Welcome to the Family Child Care Program (FCC) !!

CYSS Services recognizes the stress that longer and multiple deployments puts on Army Families and that the support they need includes liaison with schools to ensure positive relationships with the schools attended by Army youth!

(Ages 4 weeks - 12 years) Army Family Child Care Homes (FCC) are available both on and off post from trained childcare providers that work as independent contractors for CYSS Services. FCC Homes provide full-day, part-day and hourly care for children in a home environment where children can develop motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills through a balance of exploration and planned curriculum. Learning activities are designed to support the natural development of children and include individual and small group experiences.

Parents - Now search online for Family Child Care (FCC) providers! Visit Army FCC online to take a virtual tour of Garrison FCC homes, view FCC provider profiles and make important child care decisions from the convenience of your home or office!

Get started today:

  • contact your Garrison CER office to get a password for the site

As a provider, you would come by the office or complete the application on the website and pick up a packet to start the certification process. The first step to this great opportunity is to inform your family about the changes that will take place in the home environment. Only the best qualified are selected to be trained and certified as a provider. The application procedure includes:

  • Completing an application and submitting paperwork for background clearances.
  • 20 hours of training with the Training and Curriculum Specialist (TAC) and CYSS Nutritionist. (Medication and Communicable Diseases, CP/First Aid, Child Abuse, Safety, Parent Public Relations, and Child Guidance), FCC Business practices, Nutrition, Menu Planning, Sanitation, and Special Needs.
  • Physical must be completed.
  • Schedule an interview in the home with your spouse, and other family members. Home inspection will be completed during this time.
  • Additional inspections by the Fire Marshall, Safety Officer and Community Health Nurse.

As a parent, you would stop by the office and pick up a registration packet and a FCC Parent Hand Book. Complete the necessary paperwork and return to the office as soon as possible. Be sure to bring an updated shot record and pay the $18 per child or $40 per family. The annual physical must be signed, dated and stamped by the facility within 30 days from the date you pay your registration fee.

Parent Educational workshops and parent involvement is a very important factor in children's growth and development. Our on-going relationships are strengthened through positive involvement and feedback about the program. We encourage parents to frequently visit the home and participate on field trips. Join the Parent Advisory Council and make a difference for changes and improvement in the operations of your selected home. Although she is a private contractor, they are regulated by Army Regulation 608-10. There is a website (ArmyFCC.com) to view all of the homes, inside/outside at the central office. The site is set up for detailed information concerning the provider, their families and her daily operations. Long-term or short-term care is available to meet your on going demands.
