Survivors Outreach Services

Building 3338, Redeye Rd
256-876-5397

Operating Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Dear Family Member,

On behalf of the Redstone Arsenal Community, please accept my sincere gratitude for the faithful, dedicated service and sacrifice your loved one made for our country. I would like to assure you that you will always be considered a part of the Army Family. As further recognition and appreciation of the significance of your loved one's sacrifice, the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army approved a new initiative on April 24, 2008; Survivor Outreach Services (SOS). The intent of this comprehensive program is to ensure continued support as needed and desired by eligible Family Members for the duration of their immediate and long term care requirements in the following areas: Army benefits, financial counseling, grief counseling and support services, estate planning, will preparation, probate planning, assistance in the preparation of estate related tax documents, and life skills education.

We strive to provide the highest quality of services to our Surviving Family Members of Fallen Warriors. As such we want to provide you with information on the SOS program in your area. The SOS staff stands ready to serve you and answer your questions. I would like to offer you the opportunity to participate in the program by providing feedback on services you received so that we can gain a better understanding of the needs and services that you and other Survivors of our Fallen Warriors may require.

If you are currently assigned a Casualty Assistance Officer, the assistance officer will continue to be your primary contact for benefits and entitlements until his/her duty requirements are complete. If you no longer have an active Casualty Assistance Officer, but require or desire additional services you may visit or contact your Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program Manager or the Relocation Program Manager, Building 3888, Redeye Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

If you need immediate assistance, you may phone 256-876-5397. We want to ensure you receive all the services and benefits entitled to you for the service and sacrifice of your loved one.

Sincerely,
Robert M. Pastorelli
Colonel, US Army
Garrison Commander
